Volunteer Search & Rescue Team
 
Introduction
The Davison County Office of Emergency Management is responsible for the coordination of the Davison County Volunteer Search & Rescue Team. 
 
Purpose Statement
The purpose and goal of the Davison County Volunteer Search & Rescue Team is twofold; one, to provide trained and organized response to emergencies and disasters that the Team is trained and prepared for, and two, to provide trained and organized support to various emergency response agencies in and around Davison County. 
 
Team Structure
The Team is comprised of a maximum of 20 Officers with the opportunity for an additional 20 reserve officers. The Davison County Office of Emergency Management coordinates the Team. The Team has a Captain, who assumes the leadership of the Team, an Assistant Captain and three lieutenant’s who assist the Captain in leading the Team. 
 
Team Functions
The Team assists local law enforcement with traffic control during both planned events as well as emergency situations. The Team functions as the jurisdiction’s storm spotters during the spring and summer months. The Team also assists in searching for lost persons and supports other emergency response personnel and agencies in the Davison County area by operating the Davison County MEOC (Mobile Emergency Operations Center) and other support functions.
